The site is situated in the bayside suburb Scarborough, at the northern tip of the Redcliffe Peninsula in Southeast Queensland. The landscape vision for this project is guided by the desire to transform the existing outdoor landscape into a community destination. Opportunities for both community and private recreation are afforded from sunrise into the night with a shaded sun deck, daybed pavilions and a planting palette inspired by the design of ‘Moon Gardens’.
The plant palette brings together a vibrant collection of local species which celebrate the unique subtropical and coastal context of the site. Lush native trees provide shade and cooling during the day and abundant white flowers illuminate the space in moonlight.
