Ipswich Road Build to Rent
Location : Woolloongabba
Client: JGL Properties
Designed: 2023
Architecture: bureau^proberts
The build-to-rent (BTR) model is rapidly gaining traction in Australia, with a third of households in Australia and almost 70% of households in Woolloongabba currently renting. BTR residential developments are specifically designed with renters in mind, providing greater security, flexibility and liveability for tenants. Looking at completed local and international precedents, several key roles of a BTR landscape emerge:
-
Fostering community
-
Facilitating ownership
-
Connection to place
-
Recreation and relaxation
-
Returning green space to the city
Inspired by the thriving pre-colonisation ecosystem of the Corella waterholes, the planting palette will establish an iconic South-East QLD landscape. The vegetation will work harmoniously in the low carbon landscape, improving the air quality and attracting pollinating wildlife to the gardens.
